Memory List

Adapt the following list of questions depending on whether you are gathering information about your wedding or the wedding of a family member or friend.

Please help me remember the special details about my wedding day. Answer the following questions, even if you're not sure of the exact details.

  1. How did the bride and groom meet? What do you remember of their courtship? Do you know any funny or unusual experiences the bride and groom had?
  2. Can you remember anything about the planning and preparation for the wedding day? Did you help with any of these preparations?
  3. Do you remember anything about the emotional side of the story? How did the parents of the couple feel? Did the couple get pre-wedding jitters?
  4. Can you remember any of the wedding showers or parties? What can you remember about the wedding rehearsal and dinner? Can you remember any of the stories shared there?
  5. What are your memories of the actual wedding day?
  6. What do you remember about the reception? What food was served? Was there entertainment? Dancing? Where was the reception held? What were the decorations?
  7. Do you have any pictures, slides or other mementos from the wedding I can get copies of?
  8. Record any other memories you may have of the wedding, even if they don't seem significant to you.
