Shower Her with Fun!Great games to be played at a Bridal ShowerJawbreaker Before the shower, corner the groom and persuade him to answer personal questions about himself. Write the questions with the answer on to slips of paper, attaching a piece of bubble gum (Bubble Yum or Bubblicious work great). Seating the bride and guests is a circle, distribute the slips to all guests. Have each guest take a turn reading their question. If the bride cannot answer or gets the answer wrong, she must chew the piece of gum. If she gets the answer right, the guest asking the question chews the gum. Through the course of the game, the bride must keep all "wrong answer" pieces of gum in her mouth (you might want to keep a napkin handy), continuing to chew until all questions are answered. Some sample questions are:
This can also serve as a "getting to know you" game for showers where people will not know other guests. Before the shower, collect various common household (but very small) items. Put each one into a thin sock with a number pinned to it. Keep a list of the numbered items. As each guest arrives, pin a sock to their shoulder, giving them a piece of paper and a pencil. Have each guest visit all other guests, feeling what is inside their sock through the material and then writing down their guess on the paper. When all are finished, go around the room, having each lady introduce herself and tell the others what she thinks is in her sock, perhaps soliciting other guesses from the group. Open the sock to reveal its contents. Then go on to the next person. Prizes can be awarded to the person with the most correct guesses. Some samples items might be:
This game can get pretty hysterical. For this game, you will need two slips of paper and a pen for every guest. Each guest must create her own wedding-related "what if..." question, writing it down on the first slip on paper. The questions are then collected and randomly distributed, making sure no one gets their own answer. Then the guests and bride must think up an answer to the question they have received, writing their answer down on the second slip of paper. Each guest keeps the question they answered but hands over their answers, which are shuffled and then given out so that no question is with its intended answer. Then the guests take turns reading the questions and their random answers. Paper Dream Divide the guests into teams (usually three to four). Separate the teams, preferably into different rooms. Have them select one to be the "model" for the group. Hand each team a couple rolls of toilet paper and instruct them to create the "perfect" wedding dress. For variation, give colored paper or even tape to help with the design. Award prizes to the winners, to be judged by the bride. Share the Moment Seated in a circle, ask each guest to tell the others how they first met the bride or a favorite memory of the bride (this can turn into a "roast" so be careful). |
